Trending Now: Spring Fresh

Spring is right around the corner and Arlene is here to celebrate! New buds, fresh cut flowers, light and bright interiors are on our mind. It's time to come out of hibernation and clean out the closets of old clothes, restock the pantries with fresh ingredients, and replant the pots in our yard. Here are a few interior design strategies to curate your home and prepare for a happy and bright month ahead!

1. Greet Spring at the Door

Your experience of your space starts before you even walk through the door. Make sure your front porch is ready to greet spring in all it's glory! Throw out the dusty doormat from December and throw down something new. Door wreaths are not only meant for winter. Try something fresh and green! Also, make sure to repot any plants that have dried out. Now is a great time to add perennial flowers to your garden or even tomatoes and herbs that will continue to provide for you all season long!

2. Bring the Outside In

The scent of spring is in fresh lemon verbena and basil. Add a candle or new soap and dishcloths or bath towels to match the lemon yellow and tendril green colors. Have a sad or dark corner in your room? That's perfect for an indoor houseplant that doesn't need light. Be sure to place any big plants or trees in a pretty basket and cover the top layer with moss for a fresh look!

3. Fresh sheets

According to studies, eight hours per night is the healthy amount of sleep for an average person. Assuming we are all sleeping this much, that means we sleep through 1/3 of our day or 1/3 of our lives! We spend so much money on other lifestyle enhancements (cars, clothes, gym memberships, healthy foods) but often forget is that sleep is where our mind and body rejuvenate every night. Why shouldn't we elevate our bedrooms? Our minds and bodies deserve it!
